The centre is an independent charity run by a voluntary management board. The centre was first opened in 1987, and become a Registered service provider in 2000, which means we are independently inspected by the Scottish Care Inspectorate.

You can join either through a social work assessment or by private arrangement, we welcome all enquires from all and can guide you through the process.

We are inclusive and the centre is for adults or older adults who experience isolation or loneliness and have a need for Social Support and or Care needs that live within the local area.

The centre offers support to meet your care needs and have trained staff who can support you in this area, we have experienced staff who have training and knowledge in all aspects of  personal care including Catheters, Stoma Care. We can liaise with your primary health care provider to support best outcomes for you.

The centre has an accessible bath with host seat and wet room with shower, we encourage rehabilitation and work with you on building back skills and confidence to use facilities with or without the support of trained staff, Depending on your requirements.

We can’t administer medication, but we can prompt and support you in accessing assistance from your primary health care team in this area.

There is a member’s social fund which is generated by donations / fundraising which covers the cost of most activities, but occasionally we run extra activities / outings at a reduced additional fee, this would always be discussed before any arranged activities.

We have two adapted minibuses with tail lifts and side steps, which cover 6-mile radius from Forfar anything over this would require own transport arrangements.

We would welcome discussions with anyone that feels they would like to volunteer at our centre, we have positions in different areas within the centre from committee board members to helping with activities, Bus Drivers or Escort staff. Our volunteers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from all walks of life. Volunteers will be PVG checked along with references due to the nature of our service.

Our service is a chargeable service. If your Social Work referred, you may be required to pay in full or in part for the day care you receive. The amount chargeable is based on the number of times each week you attend the day centre, and this cost is means tested.

Costs will be discussed with you individually by your referring Social Worker who will offer you a financial assessment and advice on income maximisation.

Private Arrangements will be discussed with individuals as is payable direct to the centre on a four-weekly basis, via Direct Debit or Standing Order.

We strive to provide the best possible service at all times but sometimes things do go wrong.
